Focus Finder was produced during the pandemic. Here the serene waters of Lake Huron are overlaid with the viewfinders of digital and analogue cameras, as well as a range of other viewing devices such as camcorders and facial recognition software. These overlays forefront lens-based instruments that are used to record sublime landscape, but also to map territory, enable voyeurism, and conduct surveillance. The photographs thus aim to draw attention to the very act of looking, framed within the anxiety of the present moment.
