Moonrise

Moonrise parodies Ansel Adams’ famous photograph Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico. Rather than photograph sublime vistas as made famous by Adams, I offer my view of the moon rising over banal architecture, box stores, and landscapes in Southern Ontario. Moonrise (Real Estate Opportunity), depicts the moon rising over a burning barn. While the title references work by Ed Ruscha, the real estate opportunity in this case is a reminder of the demise of the family farm and the rapid expansion of development in Southern Ontario.
